Testing of sega megadrive sets

Finally got down to test the 2x sets of sega megadrive boxed sets that were bought frm bangkok

1 set had its power supply failed - at least had a backup supply frm an old set
Both consoles were working fine - nice !

Bangkok Chinatown retro gaming scene

Went to chinatown today , wanted to visit lovegameshop but it was closed .
While walking ard , spotted this shop which had loads of retro gaming stuff

Asked on prices, but the guy said he was just a repairman n items not avail for sale ?!
Anyway took some pics for remembrance

O conner at MBK

Visited o conner again .. this time rd the place was open

Shop display n inventory were impressive .. tonnes of boxed consoles n games avail  .. more imptly the prices were really eye openers
Take for example

Gameboy classic - 2900 baht - ard $120
Gameboy color - 1900 baht - ard $80
Double dragon 2 nes cart- 1600 baht- ard $64
Atari cart - 500 baht- ard $20

For the boxed consoles they were like ard 15000+ baht ..which is like $600 onwards ?!

Super duper pricey  . But showcase wise was very impressive

Mbk arcade

Went to mbk arcade to have a go at the games .. place was big but variety was limited to dancing, racing n music themed games ..
For cabinet type , only managed to find tekken 7 .. which was the latest in the series !
Paid 30baht n managed to complete the game in 1 sitting  . Wasnt tat tough after all

Visit to tarad rod fai bangkok (28 nov)

Went to tarad rod fai which translates to "train market" in bkk .. journey to there was kinda hectic - had to take train n take a taxi amidst heavy traffic

At rod fai, while walking ard, spotted this toys shop .. walked in saw tat they had stacks of sega md boxed !!!

Made a quick check..asking price was 1100 baht .. thought i could make a further cut .. subsequently picked up 5 boxed games n 2 boxed consoles.. final price was 2200 baht total.
Thought tat was a great steal 😊

Visit to o corner bangkok (27 nov)

During the dec 15 trip to bkk, dropped by o corner at mbk .

As described on the internet, it was chokeful with retro stuff but the shopfront was really small .. managed to take some pics though

Fc twin setup at calrose !

Now with the fc twin in place , able to properly test the nes cartridges !
